Potions in PPA

Hello Foxes,

Can you tell your Mums and Dads about making invisibility potions with Miss Wizardina?

I hear that you used: Troll’s Bogies, Dragon’s Blood, Fairy Teardrops, Mountain Haze and Inky Slime.

What units did you measure the potions in?  Did you have fun?

Olympic Artefacts

Jacob showed our school some interesting Olympic artefacts.  He showed us a track number from the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and a Gold Medal from the last Olympics in London in 1948.

Thanks jacob!

Can you design your own Olympic mascot?  Your home challenge is to design a mascot that represents the London Olympics 2012.  You can use the TASC wheel to help you.

You can gather and organise what you already know about the Olympics and its mascots.

Generate lots of designs for your mascot and decide on the best idea. Then, you can implement that idea – make it, draw it, sculpt it, use your imagination! The only rule is that your mascot must fit inside a shoe box just  like Mandeville.

Remember, to evaluate your design…what went well? Are there any improvements you would make next time?

You will be invited to display your design in the school hall on Monday March 26th 2012 (more details to follow) to communicate.  Your parents/carers will be invited into school to enjoy your work!

There will be a small prize for each class’ winning entry.  Some of the mascots will be printed on our golden tickets.

Congratulations Sophie!

Congratulations Sophie for your winning entry in the Unusual Reading Competition.  we hope you enjoy spending your WH Smith voucher!

Elly’s Fox Poem

Hello Foxes,

read Elly’s poem.  What do you think?  Post your comments to let us know.  Perhaps you can write your own poem about a fox.

Old Mr Fox

Old Mr Fox rummaged for some socks
But hadn’t realised they were in a box
He was caught, he gave a snort but nothing could help him now.

Just then he heard noises,
it must be those boyses!
I better get out of here quick

Eventually he got free he ran out of the door but luckily there stood outside four angry girlsnot boys, girls.

“Oh no! Girls are worse than boys! Run!” He shouted “Run!”
Fox ran and ran but oh dear poor mr Fox was grabbed by his ear.

Pulled and pulled mr Fox was, until they froze and stared.
“Why are you stopping?” he said, quite cross.
(This is the sad part of our story)
Poor mr Fox thought now is my chance to escape, and the girls ran out of the gate.
But poor Mr Fox went the wrong way he turned and saw a tiny spider there on the floor…

The spider said” Excuse me” in her politest voice “May I have some sugar for my tea?”
“Arrrrrrrgh” shouted Mr Fox “A spider in front in me! I must run!”

So off he ran, faster and faster as fast as he can,
until he was flattened by a van.

The driver took no notice but the spider said

“oh no, no sugar? no tea?
and when Fox ran past me he made me bang my knee!
Oh well, I’ll have to get sugar myself, honestly!”

I wonder if Narnia is through the back of this wardrobe?
